Wedding Budget Summary
According to a survey carried out by You & Your Wedding Magazine, the cost of a wedding in 2005
was £19,596. The largest expense was catering for the reception at an average cost of £3,211. The other main expenditures were photography, videography and the honeymoon.

At Samantha Salisbury Weddings, we use our experience, market knowledge and a unique budgeting system to ensure clients always remain within budget.

However, for those just starting the wedding planning process you may wish to consider the following:

What type of wedding do you want?
Decide what type of wedding you would like and what you can realistically afford.

Decide who is paying for what
In the past, the bride’s parents paid for the entire wedding but this is now changing and couples along with the groom’s family are all contributing. Ascertain early on in the arrangements who is contributing to what aspects of the wedding. This will help when you are planning your wedding budget.

Create a wedding budget and stick to it
Sit down as a couple and work out a wedding budget.
It doesn’t need to be 100% accurate but will give you a good idea of what the day will cost and will help you to plan and save if necessary.

Open a wedding account
Once you have decided on your wedding budget,
open a bank account that is specifically for the wedding. Use this to save money for your wedding
and pay for wedding expenses.
